Gino Tioseco collaborates with Ces in his recent solo exhibit "Iconoclast" at SM Center Dagupan. The exhibit runs from July 19 to 31 2023 and is housed at Level 2 of SM. Iconoclast is a graphic novel exhibit where the works of Gino are paired with equally exceptional words by Ces.
Gino Tioseco is a seasoned artist hailed in San Juan, Metro Manila, and is currently residing in Mangaldan, Pangasinan. He previously exhibited under the BizArt Program of the Galila Arts Festival, and has been active in other local group exhibits such as "Betel ya Panangaro" at Cups & Berry and "Kalukor" at SM Center Dagupan during the 2023 Bangus Festival.
A die-hard expressionist, Gino's works are highly influenced by Amedeo Modigliani, an Italian painter, and sculptor whose portraits and nudes—characterized by asymmetrical compositions, elongated figures, and simple but monumental use of line—are among the most-important portraits of the 20th century, and Onib Olmedo, a Filipino painter whose works are mostly figurative expressionist style, his paintings defy notions of classical representation, eschewing symmetry, balance, and proportion for distortion, exaggeration, and risk.
Gino is a self-proclaimed music buff. He paints based on his playlist, mood, and emotion.
According to Gino, iconoclast is a call for all creatives to defy the traditional notion of art and creativity.
The beautiful words that accompany the works of Gino were written by Ces. According to her, she wrote the poems within two consecutive midnights.
Princess Romyna Macaraeg, known by her pen name Ces Writes, is hailed from Malasiqui, Pangasinan.
According to Ces, at first, writing was just a mere activity where she could pour out her emotions and show her vulnerable side. But in the long run, she realized there was a burning passion deep within. Every ink creates something beautiful that she can share with people and may give them the feeling of being in love, heartbroken, comforted, and inspired. Her works revolve around poetry, essay, and prose. As of this writing, Ces has over 1.3k followers on Instagram.
Catch their work at SM Center Dagupan until 31 July 2023.
